Computer repair in London
London is a set of boroughs, not a single workshop. This directory has no checked repair business in any of them. Read this before you hand a laptop to a stranger, and use the enquiry line only as computer-repair.uk's help line.
Call our London enquiry line. The number is 020 3827 6888. Use it for questions about computer repair in London. computer-repair.uk answers that line. There is no London shop, counter or street address attached to it.
Scale first, then the fault
A person in Enfield and a person in Bromley are both 'in London' and they are not neighbours. Tube, Elizabeth line, Overground and buses join the centre. They do not make a laptop in one outer borough a drop-off for a kiosk in another. If a repairer cannot name the borough where the machine will sleep, you do not have a plan.
This website does not have a London shop, a London counter, or a London street address. The enquiry line on the page is computer-repair.uk answering questions about the guide. Ring it if you are lost in the advice. Do not ring it expecting a technician to climb your stairs tonight, and do not give the line out as if it were a high-street till.
Search engines are asked not to treat this URL as a London repair listing. There is no listing. The writing stays up so the old address does not collapse into a thin duplicate, and so the enquiry line has a page that tells the truth.
Transport, charges and carrying
Central London driving means the congestion charge and, across a wider area, the ULEZ. This page will not quote either price, because both change. The practical effect is enough: bringing a desktop in by car can cost more in charges and parking than the look at the machine. A laptop on the Tube is usually the calmer errand.
Do not agree to pass a bag across a ticket barrier to someone you have not met. Stations are where thieves like a rushed hand-over. A workshop door, a named person, and a receipt beat a 'I'll be in a blue jacket by the roundel'.
Outer London often has drive-up units on estates. Those can be legitimate workshops and they can be a long way from the advert that said Zone 1. Ask for the borough and the street before you travel. If they will not give a street, they do not get the laptop. This directory is not that street.
Faults that get more expensive in a big city
The hardware faults are ordinary: hinges, batteries, spills, disks that click, fans that sound like grit. The London-specific risk is the number of people who will offer to fix them by courier, by 'we send it to our lab', or by a call centre that never sees you. Courier is fine when you know the company and the address. It is a loss when the label is a brand you cannot look up.
A battery that is swelling should come out of the bag you take on the Underground. That is a safety point, not a diagnosis. Stop charging it on a sofa and take it somewhere that will talk about the cell, or use the enquiry line to talk through what this page means before you pick a stranger.
Screens that show a fake lock and a premium-rate request are still a script. The number inside the scare page is not our enquiry line. Compare the digits. If they are not the line printed on this site, do not call them.
Data, labs and other people's laptops
Employer laptops are common in this city. If the machine is not yours, you may not have permission to open it or to copy the disk. Say that before a counter 'just reinstalls Windows'. Personal photos on a shared family PC are the opposite problem: they are yours, and they vanish in a careless wipe. Lead with which of those two situations you are in.
A clicking drive should be left idle. Do not install recovery tools onto it. Ask the borough of any lab, not 'London'. London is not a building. If the only offer is to post the disk tonight to an unnamed unit, keep the disk.
Encryption needs the passphrase typed by someone allowed to know it. A promise to bypass that for a fee is not a London service we recognise, because we do not offer services. It is a reason to leave.
Time in a city that already has queues
Parts move quickly into London and then sit in traffic or in a loading bay that closes at 6. A next-day parcel is not a next-hour repair. Common batteries can be dull and fast. A rare board for an old ultrabook will not care that your flight is on Sunday.
We publish no average wait and no success rate. Anyone who does, without showing their working, is decorating. This page will not decorate.
If you need the machine for work on Monday, say Monday before you hand it over, and get a yes or a no. The enquiry line can explain this paragraph. It cannot reserve a bench, because there is no bench of ours to reserve.
How to hire without help from a listing
Until a London business is checked, you are choosing alone. Prefer a unit you can walk back to. Get the diagnostic fee before the case opens. Ask which borough has the laptop overnight. Ask whether files are copied before any reset. Refuse a car-park collection as the first step.
Do not treat a Devon or Cornwall guide as a London substitute, and do not treat this page as proof that we are 'in your area'. We are not. The enquiry line is a phone answered for this directory. The empty list underneath is the local truth.
Paid placement, when it exists, will be labelled and will still not invent a rating. There is nothing to sponsor on this URL today.
Think in boroughs, not in 'London'
- The City and the West End — Offices, theatres, scarce kerbside space. A desktop does not belong on a pavement meeting.
- North London — A different journey from the south. A repairer who says London and will not name a borough has not told you where the machine will be.
- South of the river — Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham, Greenwich and the rest are not one high street. Name the one you mean.
- East London — Docklands and the older east are different errands. Do not accept a zone number as an address.
- Outer boroughs — Croydon, Hillingdon, Barnet and their neighbours are a long journey from the centre. A central advert is not a local counter for them.
London businesses listed here
None in any borough. We will not paste a maps pack into this gap. A later card is a place id, after a check, and it will not be disguised as our own workshop.
London questions, answered narrowly
- Is the London number a shop?
- No. Call our London enquiry line if you need computer-repair.uk to explain this page. The call does not book a technician and it does not prove an address in any borough.
- Will someone from the enquiry line visit my flat?
- No. The line is for questions about the guide. A home visit would be a separate business, and none is listed.
- Why can I open this page if you do not want it in Google?
- This URL already existed. We replaced the cloned text with a guide and set the page to noindex, follow until a checked London business exists. Visitors with the link can still read it.
- Which borough should I name when I contact a repairer?
- The one where the machine will be handed over, and the one where it will be stored if those differ. A zone number is not enough.
List your business
London repair businesses that want a borough card will wait for verification. The enquiry line is not that application, and it is not your new shop number. We keep a place id when the time comes, and we do not keep a copied address book. This page stays noindex until a real card exists.
